Snorkeling on Tumbatu Island. A half-day excursion departing from Nuguwi will take you to the outer lying reef, where you won't be able to jump immediately in, to explore the shallow corals and look for turtles, leaf fish, octopuses, scorpion fish, moray eels, and nudibranchs, among other species. While access to the island is restricted by tribal elders, you will be able to enjoy a boat tour of the island's gorgeous coastline before returning to Zanzibar and arriving at the dock by 2 p.m. Turtles, Leaf fish, Octopuses, Scorpionfish, Moray Eels, and Nudibranchs may all be found on Tumbatu Island.
