Aside from being a valuable product on trade routes, They can be seen on the plantations just outside of Zanzibar town; this is also a great way to view Zanzibar's countryside and rural areas while also connecting with the locals. Your guided walking tour will take you through communities and spice plantations, as well as a trip through the fields, where spice farm personnel will climb trees, look for certain plants, and chop off various barks, allowing you to see, feel, and taste everything.
