Spice Tour

120$ 2pax

Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper, and a variety of other spices are key ingredients in a Zanzibari's daily life, and the island's relationship to spices and herbs is reflected in its history. The romance between Zanzibar and Spice stretches back to the 16th century. Aside from being a valuable product on trade routes, They can be seen on the plantations just outside of Zanzibar town; this is also a great way to view Zanzibar's countryside and rural areas while also connecting with the locals. We've created a unique Spice Tour that includes not only in-depth information about spices, but also organically cultivated herbs and thorough descriptions of their uses in traditional cuisines, as health remedies, and even for dyeing traditional ceremonial clothes for weddings and festivals.

Your guided walking tour will take you through communities and spice plantations, as well as a trip through the fields, where spice farm personnel will climb trees, look for certain plants, and chop off various barks, allowing you to see, feel, and taste everything. Palm-leaf accessories such as ties, rings, bracelets, and eyewear will be worn. You will have the opportunity to sample some of Zanzibar's unusual fruits at the Spice Farms. Following the trip, we invite you to an extravagant traditional Swahili lunch served in a local home, where you will get a true flavor of the food's spices. The journey includes a visit to the Kidichi Persian Baths, which were built in 1850 as a gift for the first Sultan of Zanzibar's Persian bride. The greatest place to acquire fresh spices directly from the source is at the Spice Farms. The half-day excursion includes transportation, a knowledgeable guide, entrance fees, and a delicious lunch.
