After boarding the vessel, the skilled crew uses an engine to take the dhow about 1km away from the shore; once out in the sea, the engine is turned off, and the skilled crew uses a tense moment to raise the sail; once the sail is in the favor of the wind, the guest can sit back, relax, and enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean as the dhow glides swiftly through the clear turquoise water. Our sunset excursions depart late in the afternoon from Stone Town and cruise along the coast, slicing through the brilliant turquoise ocean. As the dhow sails, the sounds of busy people in Stone Town fade away until they are only a memory. You will be served sodas, drinking water, and Zanzibar light snacks, which will encourage you to sink back into the dhow bench and enjoy the romance of Zanzibar Island as the sun sets with its beautiful orange colors.
The wonder of the blazing golden-sun sinking over the horizon will steal your breath away as it transforms the sky into a stunning canvas of colours of pinks, purples, blues, and orange. The breeze gently blows into the Latin sail as you return to Stone Town, which is absolutely captivating. We have a personal guide on board our dhow who will join you on your voyage and give you a tour of Stone Town from the sea, as well as answer any questions you may have. At 1830 hours, you will return to the shore to return your tax to the hotel.
