Touch, Smell, and Taste Zanzibar
Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper are key ingredients in a Zanzibari's daily life. The romance between Zanzibar and its famous spices stretches all the way back to the 16th century. Our curated walk guides you through vibrant plantations just outside of Stone Town—offering an excellent look at Zanzibar's lush countryside while connecting directly with rural communities.
During this hands-on field trek, farm personnel will climb high trees to source rare herbs, stripping back barks so you can see, feel, and taste everything fresh from the earth. Local artisans will even craft fun palm-leaf accessories like rings, ties, and glasses for you to wear!
Beyond the fields, this excursion features a unique visit to the historic Kidichi Persian Baths, built in 1850 by the first Sultan of Zanzibar as a romantic gift for his Persian bride.
