Conservation in Action
A beautiful small tidal lake surrounded by porous coral rag stone, Baraka Natural Aquarium is home to scores of endangered green turtles. Located right in our village of Nungwi, this natural lagoon serves as a safe sanctuary where these beautiful sea creatures are protected and cared for.
During your visit, you will be able to feed fresh seaweed to the turtles, swim alongside them in the natural pool, and take unforgettable photos.
Bonus Experience: You'll also have the unique opportunity to visit the local dhow (traditional boat) makers right near the beach to learn how these iconic vessels are crafted from the ground up by skilled local carpenters.
